I'm so sad. I lost some of my fun in digital painting. It is too quick and simple now. has anyone come across that?!

perhaps if i set it aside for a while it will grow on me later

recently though im having tons of fun with traditional 120 film , holgas, yashicas, roliflexes, the whole deal, lots of filters and fun. You want to see them? (no you dont but lets say you do) well i have them! or rather.... a few of them. I'll post a few later, maybe

also.... in addition to film ive done a bunch on encostic, which is mindnumbingly fun. very little challenge, but fun. i shall have to figure out a way to make it super stressful though if i plan to continue with it. which i kinda dont

i also really want to do tradit. paintings, cept i think the stuff ive done within the past 3 weeks all have sucked. i have painted over and over the same canvas for so long that it is thick and gross in one area . i havent even begun on the other 80 percent of the canvas... i just have some sketch in there, but i keep workin uptight over this same spot. i think ima bring it into school. im too uptight at home recently. need some more movement. yes?

so yeah. painting with paint is appealing. particularly oil paint. so i will have to see if i can scrounge up some turpentine and oils at school. find some linseed oil and rags and somewhere with ventilation. (as if that exists)

right now im hating on the digital stuff though. anything digital im thumbin' my nose at this week. hate it all. too easy. photos, drawings, line art... it all is easy and today it looks like crap to me. i want watercolors and oils and dare i say it, even 3d. if i start working sculpturally i will be surprised. you never know. i might be like michealangelo and start as a painted but grow to hate painting. i hope not though

so... yes... i think i might go work on this painting now. it has a lot of subtleties that are making it tricky... or perhaps i shall work more on college apps or nanowrimo. i feel though my efforts would be better places on this painting... but right now college apps sound more appealing.

thats sad... but part of the reason is my neck hurts and painting will make if feel worse i know
